Obituary provided by the family:

Lyndal B. Ashby

Family members in Kentucky have recently learned that Lyndal B. Ashby, formerly of Centertown, died in Oakland, California on April 11, 1990. This information was obtained after his brother conducted a lengthy missing persons investigation, and confirmed by DNA tests conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He had been estranged from family since 1960 and died under an assumed identity. His body was cremated and the ashes strewn on the ocean three miles west of the Golden Gate Bridge.

He was born on May 27,1938, the eldest son of the late Alfred and Lenora B. Ashby. Survivors include a brother Rickie Z. Ashby of Rockfield, Ky., two sons, Bryan and Darren of Fremont, California.

He graduated from Centertown High School, was a member of Walton’s Creek Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Marine Corp.

A headstone has been erected in the Walton’s Creek Cemetery in his memory. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Walton’s Creek Cemetery fund c/o David Jones, 2931 W Star Route, Centertown, Ky. 42328

Search continues for Addison man: Nieko Lisi last seen in Sept. 2011
Nieko Lisi last seen in September 2011 at age 18

7:45 PM, Jun 16, 2013

The family of a missing Addison man marked his 20th birthday last week still not knowing anything about his fate for nearly two years.

Nieko Lisi was 18 when he was last seen in the Addison area Sept. 30, 2011. He reportedly left town with a family friend, Robert Knight, who died of a possible overdose in Michigan a few weeks later.

Since then, Lisi’s family has traced down every lead, no matter how remote, and prayed he would be found.

“I’m getting phone calls at work, on my cell phone, at home. There have been a lot of rumors, but one of these might turn out to be something,” said Lisi’s mother, Monica Button. “It’s been a horrendous 20 some months. (His birthday) was very, very difficult, as is every day, but some days are better than others.

“We need to keep his face out there. We attended a few missing person conferences,” Button said. “We learned a lot of things, and the No. 1 thing is media. You need to keep a spark there and keep his face out there so that people are aware.”

Lisi had some brushes with the law before he disappeared.

He was incarcerated on a burglary charge and also had a rape charge pending for reportedly having sex with an underage girl, an allegation he vehemently denied, his mother said.

State police investigator Marcie Trimble was assigned the missing person case and is still investigating, although she admits it’s been frustrating.

“No recent leads have come in, but some leads have come in over the time,” Trimble said. “We’d urge the public if they have any information to please give me a call.”

Button continues to hold out hope, but ultimately, she just wants to know the truth.

“Somebody out there has to know something, and I need an answer,” she said. “It’s a daily thing we all struggle with. We want to know where he is. We want to know he’s OK. Good news or bad news, I just want to find him.”

Missouri family marks 48 years since girl's abduction

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.  • Forty-eight years after Elizabeth Ann Gill was abducted while playing in the front yard of her southeast Missouri home, her relatives believe she is still alive.

Thursday marked the anniversary of the abduction in Cape Girardeau. Elizabeth was 2 at the time.

Her family told KFVS-TV they believe that Elizabeth was put up for adoption on the black market and is likely still alive. Her sister, Martha Hamilton, and others close to the family spent Thursday mailing out flyers with photos showing what Elizabeth might look like at age 50.

While relatives believe Elizabeth is alive, they doubt she has any memory of her family in Cape Girardeau because she was so young at the time of the abduction.

Hikers find missing Seattle man's remains

The Associated Press • Published June 13, 2013

EVERETT, Wash. – The Snohomish County medical examiner's office says the human remains found last weekend near a trail are those of a Seattle man reported missing in 2009.

County sheriff's spokeswoman Shari Ireton said Thursday in a statement that Greg Keller was 58 when he disappeared. She says Keller told friends he planned to go camping between Darrington and Granite Falls off the Mountain Loop Highway on Oct. 27, 2009, and return home a week later. An extensive two-day search of the area by the Snohomish County Search and Rescue Unit failed to find him.

The remains were found Saturday off the Boulder Creek Trail.

The medical examiner has not yet determined the cause and manner of Keller's death.

12 Years Later- Jason Jolkowski Still Missing

Thursday marks 12 years since the disappearance of Omaha teenager, Jason Jolkowski.

Jason Jolkowski was 19 when he vanished and was last seen along 48th Street walking from his home to Benson High School the morning of June 13, 2001.

His bank account and cell phone remain untouched, his car was left in the repair shop and his last paycheck left at work.

His mother, Kelly Murphy has always said It is unlikely he ran away – he was excited about a new job and was close to his family.

What happened and where he is remains a mystery.

On the anniversary date, his mother released a new age progression picture of him in hopes that he would be the 1 and 6 missing persons cases usually solved because of a visual aid.

"We have had over 1200 long term missing children recovered wherein an age progression image was done," stated Steve Loftin, supervisor of the Forensic Imaging Unit which created the image. "There have been some age progression images that have been directly attributable to a child's recovery and other age progression images that simply aided the investigator in determining whether they have found the missing child, especially if there have been a lot of years gone by since the child went missing."

“We are confident that someone, somewhere, knows something that could bring our family the answers we desperately need,” said Kelly Murphy, Jason’s mother, and the founder of nonprofit, Project Jason, which has since helped thousands of other families with missing loved ones. “Enough time has now passed that perhaps someone will decide to do the right thing. Please help us by going to the authorities with what you know.”
