Person of interest in missing woman's case says she has disappeared before.

9NEWS at 10 p.m. 11/08/07

WHEAT RIDGE – The boyfriend of a missing 44-year-old woman says he does not believe she is in danger.

Shaida Ghaemi disappeared from a Wheat Ridge motel nearly two months ago. Her boyfriend, Jude Peters, is one of the last people to see and speak with her.

"She's done this before, she's left me and a couple months later she comes back," said Peters.

Peters is considered a person of interest in the case. Investigators found blood in the couple's motel room. They had stayed there for about a month.

DNA tests determined that the blood was Ghaemi's, but Wheat Ridge Police couldn't determine if the amount found was consistent with "serious injury." Peters says the blood was menstrual.

"No crime happened in the motel, that's a joke. Ask her family, her ex-husband, she is high (referring to her monthly cycle)," Peters said.

"The blood, again, is suspicious. We don't know why she was bleeding, that's why we need the public to come forward so we can find where she is and make sure she's OK," said Wheat Ridge Police Detective Scott Jungclaus.

Jungclaus and Ghaemi's son spoke at news conference earlier the week and explained that the mother of two grown children called her family every two or three days. Peters disagreed and says his girlfriend of about a year and half left for unspecified family problems.

"She's fed up. They put so much pressure on her, so we both spoke and she said she had to do what she had to do," said Peters.

Police have said Peters has been cooperating with investigation and did submit a list of possible locations where she may be and people she may be with.

"Mr. Peters did give us lead that he felt were credible to follow up, but those leads have been followed up and are exhausted," said Jungclaus.

Echoing Ghaemi's family, Peter says he's hoping she'll contact someone soon. The family is offering a $2,000 reward for information that can lead to her whereabouts. Wheat Ridge Police are asking people with information about this case to call 303-235-2957.

Family Offers Reward For Missing Woman
Shaida Ghaemi Missing Since Sept. 9

POSTED: 8:04 pm MST November 5, 2007
UPDATED: 8:11 pm MST November 5, 2007

WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. -- Police suspect foul play in the disappearance of a 44-year-old woman who went missing eight weeks ago.

The family of a Shaida Ghaemi offered a $2,000 reward for anyone who has information that could lead to her discovery Monday.

Police said Ghaemi of Wheat Ridge was last seen eight weeks ago at the American Motel on the West Interstate 70 service road.

She had been staying at the hotel with her boyfriend, Jude Peters, for a month prior to her disappearance.

Police questioned Peters and consider him to be a person of interest even though he has denied any knowledge of her whereabouts, said spokeswoman Lisa Stigall of the Wheat Ridge Police Department.

Ghaemi's family said she had never gone more than two to three days without at least a phone call to her children, Stigall said.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation tested blood drops found in the hotel room where Shaida was last registered. The samples were consistent with DNA samples provided by Shaida's family, Stigall said.

Shaida is described as 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing 130 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

Police ask anyone with information to contact Wheat Ridge police at 303-237-2220.

Blood in Wheat Ridge motel missing woman's

Wheat Ridge police say they have linked blood drops found in a motel room to a woman who disappeared eight weeks ago.

Shaida Ghaemi was last seen at the American Motel, 10101 Interstate 70 Service Road North, on Sept. 9, said Lisa Stigall, Wheat Ridge police spokeswoman.

Ghaemi's family reported her missing two days later, and she has not been heard from since, Stigall said.

She had been staying with her boyfriend at the motel, and police now consider him a person of interest, Stigall said. The boyfriend denied knowing Ghaemi's whereabouts when he was interviewed by detectives.

Authorities found a DNA connection between blood found in Ghaemi's motel room and DNA offered by Ghaemi's family for comparison, Stigall said.

Jude Peters was identified by police as a person of interest in connection with his girlfriend's disappearance. (Wheat Ridge Police)The woman's family has offered a $2,000 reward for information leading to contact with Ghaemi or learning her whereabouts.
