For those of you who help with posting, here are a few tips:
Be sure to read the case and news story posting guidelines, which contain a template for information we look for in a post.
If you post a news story, always post the link and the date the story was published.
Spacing is important. Edit your post if paragraphs and headings run together and/or are not separated by a line. It's easier on the eyes.
Photos are a MUST. There are simply just too many missing persons to look without a photo.
Our goal is not to post every single missing person story. There are simply too many and we operate on a tiny budget. We also function with volunteer only staff and do not have the capability to follow up on that many stories.
Check NCMEC or NamUs for a profile and prinatable poster and add that information. When using NCMEC info, use the info from the poster, which contains LE contact info. We never use the term "runaway" in our posts, so please don't add the case status.
Please remember that this is not a sleuthing or investigative forum. If you post something, it must be from an official source, such as media or LE, and be verifiable through the internet.
Thank you for caring about the missing!
Staff, feel free to add other tips.
