A former Hendersonville resident whose wife disappeared eight years ago has been charged with trying to hire someone to kill her.

According to Hendersonville Chief of Police Mickey Miller, two Hendersonville detectives, along with officers from the Pasco County Sheriff’s Department in Pasco County, Fla., arrested Tyrone N. Tackett on July 13 without incident.

Tackett, 38, told police on Jan. 31, 2003, that his wife, Salena, left their Hendersonville home with a large sum of money. Police say no one has heard from Salena Tackett since then.
