WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- The mother of a Wilmington teen missing for two weeks has come to town looking for help finding him.

Al'Quon Flowers, 18, went missing July 18, and family and friends say they still have no idea where he is or if he is even alive.

Keesha Haywood lives in Georgia but came to Wilmington to help look for her missing son. Family and friends handed out fliers at 10th and Rankin Streets, where they say Flowers spent a lot of his time.

Submitted by Cliff Pyron on Tue, 08/09/2011 - 5:22pm.

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- It's been almost three weeks since 18-year-old Al'Quon Flowers was last seen in downtown Wilmington. Today, there still is no sign of Flowers, but we do have some new information on the case you'll see FIRST ON 3.

Flowers's father Gary Hines says the vehicle that took his son over the bridge from Wilmington to Brunswick County has been located. Hines has speculated in the past that his son was taken because of other incidents involving his family.

Family of missing teen hold vigil one year after his disappearance

Submitted by Cacky Catlett on Wed, 07/18/2012 - 10:08pm.

WILMINGTON, NC -- It was one year ago when 18-year-old Al'quon Flowers went missing, but his loved ones are still hopeful there will be new leads in the case.

Dozens of his family and friends held a vigil in his honor on the Wilmington riverfront Wednesday night.

Flowers' loved ones say they are holding onto their faith in God.

"I have peace that God will answer our prayers. I'm hoping and praying. I pray every night that we get some type of closure. He's an on-time God and he will answer prayers when it's time," Flower's great aunt, Ginger Lee said.

Flowers was last seen on Red Cross Street near downtown Wilmington on July 18, 2011.

Family members believe he was the target of gang violence. An investigation into his disappearance continues.
