There are some differences of opinion as to the whereabouts of the Minnesota teen who's been missing since early May.
The Lincoln County, Minnesota sheriff believes 19-year-old Brandon Swanson probably died accidentally in the Yellow Medicine River.
After weeks of searching for Brandon Swanson, Lincoln County, Minnesota Sheriff Jack Vizecky is convinced that Swanson's body is somewhere in the Yellow Medicine River.
But Lyon County, Minnesota Sheriff Joel Dahl says they can't be so sure just yet.
"You know, at this point my information is there is no information that has recovered a hat, glasses, shoes, body parts, anything to indicate that," Dahl said.
Investigators say there's no evidence of foul play.
"I maintained from the beginning I did not believe this was a voluntary disappearance of Brandon himself and I don't think that's the case," Dahl said.
Swanson disappeared on May 14.
He car was found near the river on the Lincoln and Lyon county line in western Minnesota.
Vizecky says there's no evidence to suggest Swanson is alive or that Swanson could be anywhere *other than in or near the river.
But Dahl says, there's still no evidence proving Swanson is in the river.
"You know, the river has always been an assumption but I don't know that that should alone be considered the fact that that's where he is. Because we really don't know," Dahl said.
The searching will go on in hopes they soon do find Swanson.
Law enforcement, volunteers, and family have been searching nearly every weekend since Swanson's disappearance. Other than his car, they've found nothing, not even a piece of clothing or his cell phone.
