FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Project Jason Reaches Milestone With Release of 200th Awareness Angels Network Poster
Program provides a way to let those who care help spread the word about missing personsOmaha, Nebraska – (February 19 2009) – Project Jason today marked the 200th poster issued today for the Awareness Angels Network (AAN). AAN, begun in 2008, provides a way for the public to assist the families of missing persons. Missing persons posters designed specifically for the AAN program are disseminated via email to those enrolled in the program. Participants can then upload the posters to websites, print and place the posters in public areas, and forward them to their contacts. The program helps spread the word and increase the chances of finding the person.
The 200th poster was issued on behalf of the family of Elsha Marie Rivera. Elsha disappeared in 2004 from Fort Worth, Texas. She was 25 at the time of her disappearance. More about Elsha can be read at
http://www.projectjason.org/forums/index.php?topic=558.0One in six missing persons is found as a result of a visual aid, such as a billboard or a poster, thus the importance of poster dissemination in missing person cases. Placing posters is an easy way for you to get involved, and it can make a real difference for the families of the missing.
Participants in AAN can sign up for specific regions within the U.S. or all regions.
“I wanted to help Project Jason with ways to expand the organization’s programs,” said Jennifer Brink, AAN Poster Team Leader, who has created most of the AAN posters. “Awareness Angels Network makes it easy for those who want to help maintain awareness of each of these missing persons.”
“Jenn is completely dedicated,” said Kelly Jolkowski, president and founder of Project Jason. “It is volunteers like Jenn who make this, and our other programs, so successful.”
When you subscribe to AAN, the email notifications you receive include a link to a printable poster for a specific missing person, plus a link to Project Jason’s forum, where you can keep up on the latest case news and information.
