Leo Massicotte was last seen in the Skinner Flat Road area in Coffee County on July 3.

MANCHESTER, Tenn. – The longtime girlfriend of a missing Coffee County man is not a suspect in his disappearance after successfully completing a lie detector test on Tuesday morning.

Manchester police Detective Ray Stewart told Nashville's News 2 he spoke with Jessica Poe and believes her when she says she dropped Leo Paul Massicotte off near Arnold Air Force Base following an argument on July 3.

Poe told authorities she left Massicotte near the Lexington subdivision off Skinner Flat Road.

The two had argued about Massicotte lying about going to work when he apparently instead went fishing.

MANCHESTER, TN (WSMV) - Police in Coffee County are investigating the disappearance of a man who was last seen earlier this month.

Manchester police said Paul Massicotte and his girlfriend were arguing about him lying to her about having to work rather than going fishing.

Police said the girlfriend dropped him off near a friend's subdivision that backs up to the Arnold Air Force Base on July 3.

"I don't have a good feeling about it after a week, I don't have a good feeling about  it," said Detective Ray Stewart.

Family of man missing for 10 months offers $5K reward

Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 3:07pm
Staff reports

The family of Leo Paul Massicotte, III, of Manchester, is offering a $5,000 cash reward to locate the Manchester man, who has been missing since July 3, 2011.

Massicotte’s longtime girlfriend Jessica Poe, who police have cleared as a suspect, dropped him off near the Arnold Engineering Development Center at Arnold Air Force Base in Manchester. Massicotte, 34, was last seen wearing a brown T-shirt, cut-off blue jean shorts and Timberland work boots.

Massicotte, who has family ties to Nashville, goes by Paul and his date of birth is Jan. 21, 1978. Massicotte is a 6-foot-1-inch-tall white male and weighs approximately 180 to 200 pounds. He has hazel eyes and a short, brown military-style haircut. He is a father of six, three of whom live in Manchester and three live in Florida.

“We are extremely concerned about finding him and fear for his safety,” said his mother Elizabeth Drawdy. “We are desperate for information to find him and have tried every resource to locate him.”

Massicotte’s family is offering the reward with no questions asked as long as it leads to locating Massicotte.

Anyone with information on Massicotte can call Manchester Police Department Crime Stoppers at 1-931-461-8888 or Detective Ray Stewart at the Manchester Police Department 931-728-2099.

Manchester area searched for missing man

Posted on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at 4:08 pm

Over 50 law enforcement officials fanned out Wednesday along Interstate 24 searching for a Manchester man who disappeared three years ago.

Leo Paul Massicotte was last seen July 3, 2011, when he left his girlfriend’s car on Skinner Flat Road in Manchester, according to police.

She (the girlfriend has not been identified) told police that the last time she saw him he got out of the car and was headed toward the woods to walk to a friend’s house a few miles away, according to police.

She told officers that he walked around a red mound of clay dirt and has not been seen since.

The area where the girlfriend let Massicotte out of the car is adjacent to federal land on which the Arnold Air Force Base is located. There have been two other large searches in the area, and investigators have conducted numerous interviews with individuals who might have information concerning Massicotte’s disappearance.

“We had an independent investigator to review this case and work with us on it,” Manchester Police Department chief investigator Billy Butler said Wednesday morning. “We have been working rigorously over the last month on this case. We have re-interviewed several individuals involved in this case.”

Butler said that after reviewing the evidence that has been collected over the last month, police met with the AEDC vice commander on Monday.

“We reviewed the evidence with him and the JAG officers (legal personnel) and told them that we would like to conduct another massive search on Air Force property,” Butler said. “We were given permission to do so.”

According to Butler, officers began searching a three-mile stretch from the Lexington Subdivision off Skinner Flat Road in Manchester to mile marker 117 on I-24.

“This is the most organized search to date that we have conducted looking for Mr. Massicotte,” Butler said. The search was being conducted Wednesday and Thursday.

According to Butler, the search involved Manchester police, Manchester Fire Department, Coffee County Rescue Squad members, Coffee County Sheriff Dept. deputies, Franklin County Sheriff’s Dept. deputies, Warren and Cannon counties deputies, Tennessee State Troopers, a THP helicopter, and K-9 units from Louisiana, Florida and North Carolina. Also taking part were active duty Air Force personnel, Air Force OSI, and Air Force Security.

Several rewards have been offered for information leading to Massicotte’s whereabouts but so far no leads have been developed, according to authorities. Butler stated that several individuals were re-interviewed during their recent investigation.

Anyone with information on Massicotte can call Manchester Police Department Crime Stoppers at 1-931-461-8888 or Detective Ray Stewart at the Manchester Police Department 931-728-2099.
