Tiffany Daniels Missing: Car Found Abandoned At Florida Beach

A missing Florida woman's car was found abandoned near Fort Pickens on Tuesday, nine days after the woman failed to return to her Pensacola home from work.

ABC affiliate WEAR reported that Tiffany Heaven Daniels, 25, was last seen on Aug. 12 getting into her vehicle at Pensacola State College, where she works in the school's theater department. Friends and family were unable to make contact with Daniels after she left work, and she was reported missing.

After Daniels was officially declared missing, police began looking for the car she was driving, and friends and family began posting her information and photo on Facebook.

"We didn't have any developments until a friend of mine was out for a bike ride yesterday and found the car parked at the very last public parking lot at Pensacola Beach," Daniels' sister, Angela Huntsinger, told The Huffington Post.

In a press release, police confirmed that the Toyota 4Runner belonged to Daniels. An intensive search around the area has begun.

According to Huntsinger, the car appeared undamaged, and investigators found that it contained her sister's bicycle, cell phone and other personal belongings.

"A neighbor that lives in a condominium across the street [from the parking lot] said that car was definitely not there two days ago," Huntsinger said.

Police scoured the area, but have no leads so far. The search resumed on Wednesday.

Daniels is an avid painter and is well-known in the local performing arts community, her sister said.

Huntsinger said it is not uncommon for Daniels to go hiking. Daniels is a nature lover and enjoys camping, Huntsinger said. However, she added, it would be completely out of character for Daniels to go off for an extended period of time without notifying friends or family.

"Maybe she was just going for the day and something went wrong or maybe she was trying to help someone out and something happened," Huntsinger said.

Tiffany Daniels is described as a white female, 5-feet, 7-inches tall, with a slender build. She has blonde hair and blue eyes. She has a distinctive tattoo on the top of her feet, which depicts the life cycle of a plant as it grows from a seed.

The Pensacola Police Department is responsible for the case, but the Escambia County Sheriff's Office is assisting.

"She has a heart the size of Texas and even bigger spirit. She is an amazing person, and we just want to find her and bring her home," Huntsinger said.

Anyone with information in the case is asked to call the police department at 850-435-1900 or the sheriff's department at 850-436-9630.

A Facebook page has also been set up to help find Daniels.

Tiffany Daniels case to be featured on national network

Kevin Robinson, pnj.com 8:51 p.m. CDT September 5, 2015

In 2013, hundreds of people joined the search for missing woman Tiffany Daniels, and thousands followed the case in the news.

Now, her family is reaching out to the millions of television viewers around the country with hopes that one of them will have the answers that can bring Tiffany home.

For the past week, a film crew from the TV documentary series "Disappeared" — a show that highlights missing persons cases from around the nation — has been in the Pensacola area filming Tiffany's story.

Her mother, Cindy Daniels, is hoping that national exposure will breathe fresh life into the case.

"Unfortunately, everything we've followed lately has been dead ends," Daniels said. "We're hoping after the air date we'll get some new information."

Tiffany was last seen after leaving work Aug. 12, 2013. About a week later, her vehicle, bicycle and cellphone were found abandoned in Pensacola Beach.

For the past several days, Cindy Daniels and her husband, Rodney, have been revisiting a lot of her daughter's old stomping grounds with the TV crew, filming interviews and watching reenactments of scenes from Tiffany's life.

It was much more difficult than they expected.

"I guess it was because we had to voice some of the things we never had to say out loud," she said. "Over the past two years, we've just been on autopilot. We've done some interviews ... but as far as really having to get really deep into our feelings and thoughts for the first time, it was really emotional for both of us."

Daniels said while Rodney was driving to meet the film crew near Tiffany's old home in the Long Hollow area, he saw a young woman with a haunting resemblance to his daughter walking down the street.

"He knew it had to be the girl who was playing Tiffany, because she looked just like her from the back," Daniels said. "It shook him up pretty bad, bless his heart."

However, Daniels said the experience was wonderful overall. She said she was struck by the kindness of the film crew, friends and volunteers, the team at Sluggo's, the University of West Florida, the Santa Rosa Island Authority and others assisted with or cleared the way for filming.

The episode of "Disappeared" featuring Tiffany is expected to air on Investigation Discovery within the next few months, Daniels said.

"I think it's going to be so emotional. It's going to be so hard," Daniels said of watching the finished production. "I think we're going to be in a holding pattern. What's going to surface, how it's going to surface, if it's going to surface. But we have high hopes this is going to have a big impact in the case."

Anyone with information on Tiffany's case is asked to call the Pensacola Police Department at 850-435-1900.

New Hope in Finding Tiffany Daniels

By Debbie Williams

Published: December 16, 2015, 6:32 pm  Updated: December 17, 2015, 12:19 pm

New information and new hope for a family searching for their missing daughter, we’re encouraged by it if nothing else,” says Rodney Daniels, “It can possibly disprove something and lead in another direction.”

Tiffany Daniels has been missing for more than two years. Her 1999, grey, Toyota 4Runner was spotted in a parking lot near the gate to Fort Pickens eight days after she was last seen.

Now a new clue from someone else leaving Fort Pickens two years ago.

“The citizen noticed the vehicle because it was parked in an area that was roped off for wildlife,” says family spokesman Brad Dennis with KlassKids. “Not only was it parked there but it was parked on the inbound lane, facing outbound. That was extremely odd to this person. The tailgate of the vehicle was up and at the time there was a caucasian male in the age range of 30 to 40, wearing only red shorts, standing behind the vehicle.”

Initially, a door-to-door canvas of the area turned up two vacationers reporting a similar description. “Someone saw a man inside her vehicle coming out of that vehicle which is somewhat of a major clue.”

A sighting inside the gate of Fort Pickens has led to at least one new search and more are planned. In the meantime, new leads are also raising more questions.

“Was someone else in Tiffany’s car?” asks Rodney Daniels. “Did Tiffany drive her car out to the beach and park and leave it there and it was found eight days later or was she actually driving it or someone else driving it? We’re hoping this will lead us to those answers.”
