UNANSWERED QUESTIONS!!!!!
It is the unknown that fears us the most - The anguish, the pain, has been unspeakable. The nights and days we witnessed our parents - In Pain. In agony over your disappearance. But we went on with a smile on our face, trying To cheer them when we knew they only were full of Rage.  Your sisters your brother we all miss you. We've learned to put a mask on our face and... Pretend everything's ok, but at night we wonder... What went wrong and in the mist of the night?

There's been many tears, tears that you may never Comprehend just as we may never comprehend what Has happened to you Your daughter, she is so beautiful - Thank You for Leaving her behind for us, forgive me for my selfishness - But without her it would've been unbearable for us to cope With your disappearance. Your grandchildren are angels sent from God, with your Smile written all over there God given faces - Where ever you may be know that you will never be forgotten.. Perhaps you're with dad - If that is the case I find comfort in Knowing your with someone that loves you. What ever the theory We love you and miss you and we will Not be at peace. We will continue to put on our mask and Our smiles for the world to see and at night pondering.. Where could you be.  Love You Always Your Family

*I need your help to find A Brother/Uncle/Father and Son who has been missing. Carlos is the type of person who loved being outdoors with his family/friends and dog Susie., but most of all his daughter Lesa. Wherever he had to go he was always riding his bike. He took that bike everywhere. Laughter & fun was always his Motto.

He's the type of person that would bring a smile to your face if you were down & out. He is a fun & loving person to be with, but on December 23, 1986 the family dog (susie) died everything changed. Carlos said he would be right back because he was going to bury Susie. After he left is when we realized he did not take any identification with him. It was getting late and my other brother Nelson went to go looking for him and all he found was Susie (unburied) but not Carlos.

My mother and sister went to the police station to file a missing persons report, they handed a detective a photo of Carlos and what happened and his response was that my brother wasn't eligible for a missing person report. He had to be between the ages of very young to 16 and 50-60 yrs. of age.

So anyone between those ages were considered to have taken off. They kept his photo.

Calls were made there after, months went by and the responses were "We do not have anything new". Carlos would of never left his family especially his daughter. We would like to put some closure to this, so if anyone has seen him.

"Carlos, if you're out there and you get a chance to hear this, somehow, some way, give us some sign of where you are because we love you and we miss you and it's been a long time. You have 2 grandsons, that one is carrying your name, and wants to see you. And we love you. Oh God, that's hard."

Follow up:

This is the message that Nancy Freneire, sister of Carlos Diaz, would like to convey to her brother. In an interview with Todd Matthews on his "Missing Pieces" show, Nancy recounts the events of December 23, 1986.

Carlos and his family were attending a reunion in the Bronx, NY home of another sister. The family dog had died and being that the dog was closest to Carlos, he went to bury it. As time went on and it got later, another brother noticed that Carlos left without any ID, which was unusual for him, felt that Carlos had plenty of time to bury the dog and return, and decided he better go out looking for him. The brother found the dog that Carlos had left with to bury, but there was no sign of Carlos anywhere.

When Carlos did not return home, the family made the decision to go to the police and file a missing persons report based on the facts that he was unlikely to stay away from his family and especially his little daughter. Due to the fact that Carlos was 32 at the time, he fell into a "guideline" that said it was assumed since he was an adult, he probably just took off. The family was not able to get the police to take a report.

Over 20 years have gone by and this family has continued their search for Carlos. The internet has provided places to list missing persons information, however, there are a lot of agencies and sites that can not do anything without a police missing persons report filed and no NCIC number to go by. Now, over 20 years later, the family is told that too much time has passed and the police will still not file a report.

Recently, Nancy was able to have a DNA sample taken and that sample may be the key to finding Carlos who is also listed in the Doe Network. Previous to going missing, Carlos had a head injury which could have resulted in memory loss. Could he be out there after all this time? Could he be in a facility not knowing who he really is? There could be any number of answers and his family is able to accept any of them as long as they know what happened to Carlos.

Nancy and her family, including the daughter of Carlos, have a huge void in their lives which can only be filled with answers. So many changes happen in a family in 20 years, fathers die, children grow up and have children of their own, and sisters and brothers go their separate ways. One thing has been a constant in the family of Carlos Diaz and that is that they miss him, they love him, and they will not stop searching for him. One day, with the help of organizations like NAMUS and DOE Network, and many others, this family will know the answers and they will finally be at peace.

Still searching

December 29. 2008

ALBION -- In the photos, one woman is wearing a floral blouse. Another has blue eyes that sparkle. A third, his red hair cut short, is wearing a suit and tie for his class photo.

They're all smiling.

They're all missing.

"They've all got a heartbreaking story," said David Lohr, 34, who is surrounded by posters of missing people at his office in Albion.

Lohr writes from his office about the missing and the dead on a blog called "Criminal Report Daily" for ID: Investigation Discovery, a 1-year-old digital cable channel that features true crime programs.

He spends his day researching and investigating unsolved cases.

Many of the stories catch at his heart. Which is why he's taken his interest in writing and researching crime a step further to involvement with the group Texas EquuSearch, a team that has aided in high-profile searches for missing teen Natalee Holloway and, more recently, for toddler Caylee Anthony, whose remains were recovered this month in Florida.

Lohr traveled with Texas EquuSearch to Florida to aid in the search for Caylee.

He was among the searchers who came close to the little girl's body, only to be turned away by knee-high water that had covered the wooded region.

"She was just 300 feet to the left of us," he said.

His interest in crime dates back to childhood.

"When other friends were buying GI Joe magazines, I was buying True Detective," he said.

After graduating from Northwestern High School, Lohr joined the Army. When he was discharged three years later, he returned to Albion and began his own Web site featuring serial killers.

In 1999, the Web site caught the eye of Marilyn Bardsley, then the executive director for Court TV's Crime Library. She asked him to write for Court TV's Web site. He worked for the Web site until 2007.

"He's a very good researcher," Bardsley said. "He's smart, he's determined, and he's clever. Plus he's good at writing. It's a good combination."

On some days, Bardsley said Lohr could ante up 300,000 hits on his blog.

"He's just good at getting people engaged," she said.

Lohr said some of his favorite subjects are the missing people that don't garner the attention of the likes of Nancy Grace and the morning news shows.

"A lot of them don't get the ongoing attention, the publicity that keeps their cases alive," he said.

That's why he keeps the pictures of Corrie Anderson, Jesse Ross, Linda Little, Ahren Barnard, Carlos Diaz, Brandy Hanna and Branson Perry posted in his office.

They remind him of who is still out there.

Project Jason is pleased to announce an addition to the main page of our website. Along with the Featured Missing Adult and Featured Missing Child, we are adding a section called "Always Remembered". Just as with the other featured persons, those in "Always Remembered" will remain on the main page for one month. Carlos Diaz is the October 2009 Always Remembered featured missing person.

The new section was created to renew awareness for the long-term missing, and we encourage our readers to take another look at the case, and place posters where appropriate. It also reflects the Project Jason motto: "All missing persons are loved by someone, and their families deserve to find the answers they seek in regards to the disappearance."

Please see http://www.projectjason.org/ to view the Always Remembered case.

The Missing -- A Weekly Exposé of Lost Souls -- Issue #3
Carlos Diaz

Carlos Diaz went missing from his home in The Bronx, New York, on December 23, 1986. According to Carlos' sister, Nancy Freneire, the family dog had died and Carlos went to bury the animal. What happened next remains a mystery.

"It was getting late and my other brother Nelson went to search for him and all he found was the dog, still not buried," Nancy said in a recent email. "Carlos left behind his beautiful baby daughter and loving family. He would have never left on his own."

It remains unclear if Carlos, then 32, met with foul play or if a medical condition played a role in his disappearance. According to Nancy, he suffered a head injury at some point in his life and his doctors had cautioned him that he could lose his memory at anytime, without warning.

"My mother and sister went to the police station and the detective's response was that my brother wasn't eligible for a missing person report," Nancy said. "The police kept his photo and we continued to call them for information but the responses were always, 'We do not have anything new.'"

According to Nancy, police still refuse to file a missing person report, now claiming that too much time has passed. Nonetheless, Nancy has continued to search for answers and has created a page on MySpace devoted to the case.

Carlos is described as a Hispanic male with brown hair and brown eyes. He is 5'8" and weighed 170 lbs. at the time of his disappearance. He has a tattoo with the initials C.D. on his left hand.
