Leesville, La. - The Vernon Parish Sheriff's Office is still looking for a Leesville man who was reported missing Dec. 20 by a family member.

Joel Wesley Grace, 57, was last seen Nov. 25, 2009 at  his residence in the Shady Oaks Trailer Park on La. 10. Last week's missing person advisory led an Alexandria woman to report that she'd seen Grace there, but so far, nothing further has developed, said Marvin Hilton, chief detective for VPSO.

According Hilton, the missing person fliers have gone out to shelters but there have been no hits.

Grace, a black male, is known in Leesville as "Black," and is very recognizable by the unusual coloring of his mustache, which is mostly white on the right side and black on the left.

Anyone with any information concerning the whereabouts of Grace should contact the Vernon Parish Sheriff's Office at 337-238-1311 or the Criminal Division at 337-238-7248.

Officials still seek info on missing Leesville man

Leesville, La. -

Investigators with the Vernon Parish Sheriff's Department are still seeking information on the whereabouts of missing Leesville resident, Joel Wesley Grace.

Detectives have followed up with every possible lead in Grace's case, but as the trail grows cold, detectives are growing more concerned.

"Earlier this month an Alexandria woman reported seeing a man in that area that looked like Grace that appeared disoriented," VPSO Chief Detective Marvin Hilton explained.

That report has heightened the concern of detectives and family members, who now fear that Grace may not be able to discern where he is or how to return home.

"We are just concerned for his safety and well-being," Hilton said.

A search for Grace, 57, began in December after a family member reported him as missing on Dec. 20. Missing person advisories and flyers were sent out, but aside from the Alexandria woman's report in early January, no other real leads have come up.
"We have been to Alexandria and searched there, but there is not much more for us to go on at this time," Hilton said.

According to reports, Grace was last seen on Nov. 25 at his residence in the Shady Oaks Trailer Park located on La. 10.

Grace, a black male, was known throughout the area as "Black," and is very recognizable given the unusual coloring of his mustache, which is black on the left side and mostly white on the right side.

Anyone who has information regarding Grace's whereabouts is encouraged to contact the VPSO office at 337-238-1311 or the Criminal Division at 337-238-7248.
