For The Telegraph

Yellow balloons - 365 of them - sailed into the evening sky Saturday as family and friends of Bonnie Woodward gathered in Alton to draw comfort from one another on the one-year anniversary of her disappearance. She would have turned 49 on Monday.

"Tonight is a reflection of Bonnie's life," said Peggy Hart, reading from a statement she and her sisters, Rebecca Lee, Bobbie Valdes and Jude Houston, wrote earlier that day. Lee lives in Louisiana and Hart lives in Mississippi.

Bonnie Woodward still missing as family holds out hope

10:54 PM, Jun 26, 2012

Alton, IL (KSDK) - Two years ago Monday, a local grandmother vanished and her family still doesn't know what happened to her.

Tuesday night family and friends released balloons to honor Bonnie Woodward.

She was last seen in the parking lot of the Eunice Smith Nursing Home in Upper Alton.

Her pickup truck was left in the lot with its windows down and no sign of her personal affects.

"Somebody here knows where she's at, what has happened to her. Somebody needs to be a human being and let us know where she's at. Our family deserves the closure. We deserve the respect," said Woodward's niece, Starla Grey.

If you have any information contact Alton police at (618) 463-3505.

Missing Persons Cases Still Open

By Doug Jenkins - WBGZ Radio

WBGZ Radio 6/25/15

It’s been almost four years since Jared Hanna of Jerseyville was last seen, and police still have no new credible leads as to what may have happened to him.   Hanna’s family is hoping to generate new interest in the case as the anniversary of his disappearance is now a week away.

Hanna is thought to have been in Alton on July 3 of 2011, but his truck was found in Clinton County.  His sister, Heather Hanna, tells The Big Z they need someone with information on his disappearance to step up.

If you have any information on his whereabouts, contact the Clinton County Sheriff's Department at 618-594-4555.  Local police are also still working the Bonnie Woodward case.  She vanished June 24, 2010.  While still technically a missing persons case, Alton Detectives have been treating it as a homicide from early in the investigation.  If you have any information on that case, call 618-463-3505.
