Officials Continue to Search for Missing Woman

Deputies in Beaufort County are continuing the search for this woman, 22-year-old Kierra Barnett. They say she went missing December 20th of last year. The Sheriff's Office says new information has surfaced that indicates criminal activity may have been involved in her disappearance. One year later and still no sign of a Beaufort County woman who vanished from her home in Edward. Now her family is preparing for another Christmas without her.
21 year old Kierra Barnett was last seen at her home along Old Sandhill Road December 20th, 2006. She was reported missing by family members on Christmas day leaving her 3 year old son without a mom.
Her brothers Stephen and Cord Barnett say their mother has spent the past month in Florida looking for their sister. They say they were all born in the Cocoa Beach area. Beaufort County authorities say they haven't found the piece to help the solve the puzzle, but they believe it's out there.
Sheriff's officials say they believe foul play may be involved.

Time Reported: 10:08 a.m.
Location: Old Sand Hill Road
On 12/25/2006, the mother of Kierra Barnett reported her missing. Barnett was last seen by her family on 12/20/2006. She was 21 years old at the time of her disappearance and lived on Old Sand Hill Road in Edward, NC.
Kierra Barnett had a history of mental illness and substance abuse. Information gathered during the investigation indicates that Barnett may be deceased; however, no remains have been found. Barnett is a black female born in 1985.
